Trying to decide between vinyl, laminate, or hardwood floors? Learn the pros and cons of each and how Konig Brand Flooring can help you choose the best fit, including

our Golden Age Click vinyl system.

Choosing the right Flooring

Vinyl Flooring: Durable, Waterproof & Modern

Vinyl has come a long way. Today’s Luxury vinyl plank (LVP) looks just like real wood but offers:

  • Waterproof protection (great for kitchens, bathrooms, basements)

  • Scratch resistance

  • Soft underfoot feel

👉 Ask about our Golden Age Click System – Konig’s premium interlocking vinyl that’s quick to install

and easy to replace if damaged.

Vinyl also gives you flexibility:

  • Click system = No glue, floats over the subfloor

  • Loose lay = Easy to remove and replace

  • Glue down = Best for high-traffic or commercial areas where stability matters

Laminate Flooring: Affordable & Stylish

Laminate is a great middle ground. It’s:

  • Budget-friendly

  • Scratch-resistant

  • Easy to install

However, unlike vinyl, laminate is not waterproof, so it’s not ideal for rooms prone to moisture unless you choose products with a waterproof rating.

Laminate also uses a click-together system, but it usually needs an underlayment for sound and moisture protection.

Hardwood Flooring: Timeless but Sensitive

Real hardwood is classic and adds value to your home. But:

  • It's more expensive

  • It can scratch and dent easier

  • It doesn’t love water

If you're looking for luxury and plan to stay in your home long-term, hardwood could

be the right fit. But families with pets or kids often go with vinyl that looks like wood

but performs better under pressure.

At Kings Flooring, we help you compare samples side-by-side.

Many of our customers end up choosing the Konig Brand Flooring for its 5

different types of Vinyl, not to mention the Golden Age Click System and

for its:

  • Waterproofing

  • Realistic wood look

  • Easy repairs (just replace the plank, not the whole floor)

But every home is different — that’s why a free consultation helps so much.
